Alabama Innovation Engine

The Alabama Innovation Engine is a design-based community development initiative jointly funded by The University of Alabama’s Center for Economic Development and Auburn University’s Urban Studio to create large scale positive change and encourage economic development in rural communities in Alabama through design.  Engine’s objective is to support communities within Alabama as they work together to realize the potential of their best assets: residents, local leaders, natural resources, and rich history.  The Alabama Innovation Engine works to build partnerships between those mission-driven organizations and design firms to create opportunities for design thinking to have an impact on local social innovation projects.
