Trails User Count and Survey ProgramWhile Alabama has hundreds of recreational trails stretching thousands of miles, we know very little about the economic impact that these facilities have on nearby communities and on the state as a whole. In an effort to close this gap in understanding, UACED has developed its Trail User Count and Economic Impact Survey Program. This program provides trail operators the tools to understand how many people are using their trails each year, where they are coming from, their usage patterns, and the direct spending they have done in association with the trail. The information obtained not only helps inform trail operators about how they can better serve their visitors, but enables us to generate an economic impact report of total local and regional impact based upon direct spending of the trail users. For more information on how to participate, please contact the UACED office at (205) 348-7058.
