Landmark Projects
UACED and the UA Sales Program partner together through Collaborative Learning Projects for economic development through businesses practices, called Landmark Projects. This allows our partners to directly engage as a client with a small team of pre-selected students. Teams consist of undergraduate students led by a graduate-level Project Manager to set expectations and a vision for the outsourced work to be provided to the client by the team. The purpose of these projects is to create a business benefit for the client while giving students live sales and marketing experience. The UA Sales Program facilitates a deeper connection between its students and corporate partners through these projects in which a team of students tackle a sales goal or organizational opportunity designated by UACED. Projects routinely include researching new or existing markets, building and running digital marketing platforms, conducting competitive analysis, and developing sales strategies.

Over the course of 4 weeks 6 students from the Sales Program at the University of Alabama developed a website for the City of Reform, Alabama. The students took it upon themselves to research the community and values that make Reform unique. The students focused on life in Reform, churches, schools, and economic development opportunities. The end goal was to create a visually aesthetic website that residents and visitors can both benefit from.

Tourism Video Project - Spring 2017
Over the course of 14 weeks 6 students from the Sales Program at the University of Alabama worked to construct tourism videos for counties in West Alabama. Each student was assigned their own county and was given the opportunity to make the video their own. These students connected with contacts from each county that assisted them in scheduling for the video as well as gathering content. Each student channeled their inner-creativity and storytelling skills to produce their own narrative about their county. These videos will be one of the critical the tools for the county contacts in their mission to bring in more visitors to their respective counties.
